Precautions for Using Single-Girder Cranes:
1. During operation, the crane must display clear rated load capacity markings in prominent locations. Personnel are strictly prohibited from climbing onto the bridge structure or using the hook to transport individuals. Operators must maintain full concentration on the task at hand and refrain from engaging in unrelated activities.
2. Lifting operations are prohibited under conditions such as inadequate load securing, diagonal pulling, or unclear signal communication. When traveling along an unobstructed path, the hook and load must maintain a minimum clearance of two meters from the ground. When crossing obstacles, the clearance must exceed half a meter above the obstacle.
3. When the load weight is less than half the rated capacity of the single-girder bridge crane, simultaneous operation of two mechanisms is permitted. For loads exceeding half the equipment's rated capacity, only one mechanism may operate. For single-girder cranes with primary and auxiliary hooks, the auxiliary hook must not be raised or lowered simultaneously.
4. Before operating a single-girder crane, inspect all lifting tools to ensure they are in good working order. Do not perform lifting operations if any tools are defective.
5. Similarly, inspect the ropes when using a jib crane. Ensure the ropes are secure, not loose or broken. When securing objects with sharp edges, place protective padding between the object and the rope to prevent rope damage.
6. For jib cranes, ensure the load is centered to avoid diagonal pulling. Specialized lifting operations may require operators to maneuver laterally.
7. Do not rush when moving cargo. Proceed only after the load is stable. Do not place debris or allow personnel to stand on suspended loads. Keep all unauthorized personnel clear beneath suspended objects during handling.
8. Implement comprehensive safety protocols. Workers must wear hard hats. Operations require unified direction by qualified personnel with coordinated departmental efforts. Before lifting off the ground, inspect all components like wire ropes for safety. Halt operations immediately for any unsafe conditions.
9. When using jib cranes, suspended loads must not remain airborne for extended periods.
10. Single-girder crane inspections and maintenance may only be performed after power disconnection and when the power switch is clearly marked with a “Do Not Operate” sign. Implement safety precautions during live-wire operations and assign dedicated personnel for supervision. Understanding and adhering to equipment operating procedures not only enhances efficiency but also reduces accidents.
